Johanneshof Marlborough Riesling Medium-Dry 2016

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 15-Nov-2016
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, paler on the edge. The nose is softly full and fine in proportion with concentrated aromas of lime and lemonade fruit entwined with white and yellow florals, along with subtle notes of honeysuckle and thirst-quenching mineral nuances. Medium-dry to taste and medium bodied, this has a poised palate with softly refreshing flavours of lime fruit enriched by notes of honeysuckle, and lifted by floral elements. The mouthfeel is enlivened by mouthwatering acidity and nuances of minerals, and flows along a fine-textured, positive line. The ripe, underlying acidity lends energy and tension, leading to a long, sustained finish of limes, florals and honeysuckle. This is a poised and softly refreshing medium-dry Riesling with lime’ floral and honeysuckle flavours in the Rheingau Kabinett style. Serve as an aperitif and with mildly spicy Asian fare over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from Rapaura, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 19.5 g/L TS, TA 7.4 g/L. 18.5/20 Nov 2016 RRP $25.00
