Johanneshof Marlborough Methode Traditionnelle Blanc de Blancs Brut 2007

Sparkling Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-May-2013
Bright pale, straw-yellow colour with light lemon-green hues, very persistent and fine bubbles. The bouquet is refined and refreshing with intense aromas of white stonefruits, citrus and white florals, underlined by fresh bread and delicate nutty aromas. Dry to taste, elegant white stonefruits, florals and citrus flavours show with a delicate succulence and richness. This has a fine bready backbone, core and linearity from the autolysis, and the mouthfeel is enlivened by lacy acidity and fresh effervescence. The flavours have good drive and energy and are carried to a tight, lifted floral finish. This is an elegant, refreshing Blanc de Blancs method traditionnelle with lifted white fruit and floral notes. Serve as an aperitif and with canapés over the next 4+ years. Hand-harvested Chardonnay fermented and aged in French oak. After secondary fermentation aged on lees 5 years. 12.5% alc. and 9 g/L dosage. Lot L0791. 18.0+/20 May 2013 RRP $38.00
