Jip Jip Rocks Sparkling Shiraz NV

Sparkling Wine from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 09-Jun-2013
A blend of 2-3 y.o. wine, aged in seasoned French oak. 13.0% alc and 22 g/L rs. Even dark garnet red colour, lighter on rim, with a persistent, moderately sized bubbles. This has a soft and light bouquet of savoury red fruits and red florals along with some earthiness, mint and game meat. This is gentle and straightforward. Slightly sweet to taste, gentle, lush and softly presented flavours of savoury red berry fruits and plums are intermixed with notes of mint, earth and red liquorice. The mouthfeel is soft and creamy, the tannins in the background and the mousse providing freshness and drive. The acidity is quite restrained and integral, and allows the soft textures and mellow flavours flow smoothly to a lingering red fruited finish. This is a light, soft, gently savoury sparkling Shiraz to serve with poultry and pork over the next 3+ years. 16.5/20 Jun 2013 RRP $25.50
