Jip Jip Rocks Padthaway Shiraz 2010

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 09-Jun-2013
Fullish, dark, deep ruby-red with black hues. The nose is very fine, even and elegantly presented with aromas of fragrant mint, ripe black pepper and eucalypt all harmoniously interwoven. Oaking is balanced, adding some spices notes, but the fruit is to the fore. Medium-full bodied, this has a complete and balanced melange of mint, pepper and dark berry fruit flavours and subtle exotic spices, growing in concentration and depth. Fine-grained tannins provide good structure and support, and discreet acidity lends an underlying freshness and juiciness. The flavours flow to a fine-textured, dry, lingering finish. This is an elegant and harmonious Shiraz with fine tannins. It will match roast beef and lamb, and semi-hard cheeses over the next 6-7 years. Aged 13 months in new and seasoned French and American oak. 14.5% alc. 18.0-/20 Jun 2013 RRP $22.50
