Jean Josselin Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2013

Sparkling Wine from France - Champagne
Review Date : 10-Apr-2018
Bright, light golden-hued yellow colour with some depth, a little lighter on the rim, the bead very persistent and fine. The nose is softly full and voluminous with aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits entwined with white and yellow florals forming a tight core. Subtle biscuit and bready-yeast notes unfold along with honied elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has rich and gently mouthfilling flavours of yellow stonefruits harmoniously interwoven with bread and yeast, and also biscuit complexities and a touch of honey. The palate is fresh and mouthfilling with fine, balanced acidity and a delicately textured, underlying line. The flavours carry to a lingering finish of florals, stonefruits, yeast and honey. This is a gently harmonious, mouthfilling Blanc de Blancs Champagne with yellow stonefruit and floral flavours, entwined with subtle autolysis and hints of honey. Serve as an aperitif, and with Asian fare over the next 2-3 years. 100% Chardonnay, fermented to 12.6% alc., undergoing MLF, with 6.5 g/L dosage, the wine aged a minimum of 3 years on lees. Disgorged Jan 2018. Lot L 0118. 18.0/20 Apr 2018 RRP $58.50
