Jean Josselin ‘Audace’ Champagne Rosé NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Champagne
Review Date : 13-Jun-2016
Light strawberry pink colour with some depth and peach hues, lighter edged. The bubbles are very fine and very persistent. The bouquet is light and fresh with aromas of strawberries, redcurrants, cherries and pomegranate, along with piquant herbs. The aromatics build in the glass to show concentration and depth, unfolding red florals and delicate yeasty autolysis. Dryish to taste, the palate is full, open and accessible with flavours of redcurrants, strawberries, cherries and nutty, bready, autolysis detail. This has a good heart and line, the red fruit flavours the feature. Soft effervescence and light grainy textures balance the mouthfeel and the wine leads to a dry, red-fruited finish with a little grip. This is an open and accessible red-fruited rosé Champagne with light textures and a dry finish. Match with poultry and pork dishes over the next 3-4 years. 100% Pinot Noir from the 2011 harvest, fermented to 12.0% alc., with 9.5 g/L dosage. Disgorged January 2016. Lot 0116 17.5/20 Jun 2016 RRP $69.70
