Jean Chatron Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2011

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 18-Sep-2014
Full, even, light straw-yellow colour with some depth. This is full and concentrated on nose, unfolding fine layers of ripe floral and white stonefruit detail, along with nutty and minerally, flinty nuances, the bouquet exuding richness and seamlessness with its building volume. Refined and tightly concentrated on palate, this has a firmness and depth with excellent power and linearity to the core. A complex and interwoven array of flavours, with florals, stonefruits and nuts, flows with drive. The mouthfeel is dry in texture, and carries to a very long and sustained finish. This is rich, powerful and detailed in complexity, yet remains refined. 7-9 years. Fruit from 0.12 ha, vines 51 y.o., the wine aged 12 months in 40% new barrels. 19.0-/20 Sep 2014. RRP $290.00
