Jean Chartron Puligny-Montrachet 2010

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 29-Apr-2013
Fruit from 0.34 ha of vines, aged 30 – 50 y.o. from just north of the village, fermented to 13.0% alc. and aged 10 months in 25% new barrels. Full, straw-yellow with golden hues. The bouquet is very finely expressed with good intensity, showing layers of ripe citrus fruits, nuts toasted oak, with mealy white florals. This is elegance and sweetly aromatic. Medium-bodied, this is elegantly proportioned with refined citrus fruit flavours. Still quite tightly bound, the mouthfeel is a little slender, but possesses good fresh acid balance and fine textures. The palate has excellent linearity and the oak toastiness is carried to a long finish. This is a finely-proportioned and well-balanced Puligny-Montrachet that will develop well over the next 5-6+ years. 17.5+/20 Apr 2013 RRP $102.00
