Jean Chartron Puligny-Montrachet 1er ‘Clos de la Pucelle’ Monopole 2010

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 29-Apr-2013
Fruit from 1.16 ha of vines, aged 30 - 60 y.o., from the ‘Clos du Pucelle’ monopole, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 30% new barrels. Brilliant straw-yellow colour with slight golden hues, pale edged. This has a tightly bound and elegant, sinewy-slender bouquet with aromas of toasted mealy fruit with citrus and white stonefruit detail. The oaking is quite unobtrusive, and minerally nuances unfold. Medium-bodied and quite elegant, this has concentration at the core, with fine grainy textures forming a good, driven line. An amalgam of citrus and white stonefruits and flinty elements reveals more in the glass, This is still very youthful, possibly a little on the delicate side, but will unfold more over the next 6-8+ years. 18.5/20 Apr 2013 RRP $175.00
