Jean Chartron Chassagne-Montrachet ‘Les Benoites’ 2011

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 18-Sep-2014
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight golden hues, pale on edge. The nose is clean, fresh and youthfully brash with aromas of white stonefruits and subtle notes of herbs and some oaky nuances. Fulsome on palate, this is up-front and robust in texture with bold flavours of white stonefruits. The fruit has richness and depth and the mouthfeel features some grip and texture, with lively acidity lending a degree of softening freshness. The acidity carries to the finish. This is classical Chassagne-Montrachet with its robustness and suggestions of comparative rusticity. 4-5+ years. Fruit from 0.55 ha from ‘Les Benoites’, vines 56 - 64 y.o., the wine aged 12 months in 30% new barrels. 17.5/20 Sep 2014 RRP $89.00
