Jean Chartron Chassagne-Montrachet ‘Les Benoites’ 2010

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 29-Apr-2013
Full, light golden-straw colour. This has a full, firmly pack and deep bouquet with ripe citrus and mealy aromas, the buttery MLF elements showing through, but with oak in support. There is a dru, near austere flintiness to the nose. Medium-full bodied, this is bold and open with powerful citrus, MLF, oak and flint on impact. The acidity is fresh and texturally the palate is fine. The flavours carry through to a dry finish with acid enlivened citrus and mealy notes. This is classical Chassagne-Montrachet hinting at openness and robustness. Drink over the next 5-6 years. .Fruit from 0.55 ha from ‘Les Benoites’ fermented to 13.0% alc. and aged 12 months in 30% new barrels. 17.5/20 Apr 2013 RRP $110.00
