JC Soho Reserve 2019, Waiheke Island

Blended Red from New Zealand - Northland & Auckland
Review Date : 15-Mar-2021
Deep ruby-red with a purple hue, lighter on the rim. The nose is full and elegantly robust, with succulent aromas of red berries, red stonefruit melded with sweet vanilla, cardamon and cocoa. Full-bodied, the palate is plush with juicy red berries, plums and cherries, followed by sweet spices. The fruit has a strong core, supported by vibrant acidity, provided lightness to the finely structured palate, constructed by fine-grained tannin extraction. This is a red fruit fragranced blend of 77% Merlot and 23% Petit Verdot with a plush and focused palate on a fine-grained tannin palate with strength and structure. Match with ribeye steak and wagyu beef over the next 6+ years. Fruit from Carter Family Vineyard in Onetangi, 13.5% alc. Tribute to the late John Carter. 18.5+/20 (94 pts) Feb 2021 RRP $150
