Jackson Estate ‘Stitch’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Nov-2011
Named after founder John ‘Stitch' Stichbury. Fruit from four estate sites in the central Wairau, Omaka and Waihopi sub-regions, cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 3.0 g/L rs, the wine on lees 4 months. Brilliant pale straw colour with green hues and a pale edge, this has a powerful and intense nose of pungent passionfruit and ripe gooseberries, still a little raw and youthfully brash. Dry to taste and well-concentrated with a deep core of ripe passionfruit flavours, this has a fleshy mouthfilling palate underscored by racy acidity. The fruit is still to unfold, and the density provides a fine textured line and long fruit-packed finish. This promises to become richer and more lush over the next 2-3 years when it will merit a higher rating. Serve with vegetables, poultry and Mediterranean cuisine. 18.0+/20 Nov 2011 RRP $22.50
