Jaboulet ‘La Petite Chapelle’ Hermitage 2010

Syrah from France - Rhone
Review Date : 03-Jan-2015
Black-red colour with some garnet on edge, The nose is full, soft and densely packed with aromas of ripe, dark plum and dark berry fruits intermixed with earthy notes, unfolding toasty oak. Full-bodied, the palate features concentrated, ripe blackberry fruits supported by a firm core of tannin extraction. This has alcohol presence adding a sense of power. The acidity underlines the fruit, enhancing the sweetness and drive. Spice elements, black minerals and earthy nuances unfold adding interest. This is essentially more fruit-driven, and has tightness, finesse and length, with full ripeness on the finish. This will develop over the next decade. 100% Syrah, mainly from ‘Le Meal’, including young vines, destemmed and fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 12-18 months in 20% new barriques. 18.5/20 Nov 2014 RRP $155.00
