Jaboulet ‘Domaine des Pierrelles’ Cote-Rotie 2009

Syrah from France - Rhone
Review Date : 27-May-2012
Based on Syrah from a new property in Tupin-et-Semons. Very dark, deep, purple-hued black-red colour, this has a full, but elegant bouquet with attractively aromatic savoury violetty florals, layered with black fruits, black pepper and oak, all expressed with finesse and accessibility. An elegant, medium-bodied wine, this has striking suppleness and accessibility from bright black fruits and lively acidity melded harmoniously with fine tannin overlay. The richness and extract build in the palate to show a serious core, yet this retains a degree of smooth prettiness. 10-12 years.  18.5+/20  May 2012  RRP $149.00
