J. de Villaret Crémant de Loire Rosé Brut NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Loire
Review Date : 04-Feb-2014
Pale salmon-pink colour with a fine bead and good persistence to the bubbles.  The nose is soft and clean with gently filling and delicate aromas of yellow stonefruits and red berries, revealing herbal elements.  Nuances of bread and yeast emerge in the glass, along with curranty notes.  Dryish to taste, light red fruits, currants and herbal flavours are supported by soft, creamy textures.  The mousse is very soft and refreshing and along with the fresh acidity provides a clean mouthfeel.  The flavours fade, and lead to a light finish.  This is a clean, fresh and gentle crémant rosé with with ligh ref fruit and herbal characters.  Serve as an aperitif and with antipasto over the next 2 years.  Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc fermented to 12.0% alc.  16.5/20  Feb 2014  RRP $19.99
