J. de Villaret Crémant de Loire Brut NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Loire
Review Date : 04-Feb-2014
90% Chenin Blanc and 10% Chardonnay, fermented to 12.0% alc. Bright, very pale straw colour with youthful, light-green hues, the bead very fine and persistent. This has a very fine and tightly bound nose with refreshing, clean and delicate aromas of lifted white florals and white stonefruits, along with subtle nutty and yeasty nuances. Dryish to taste, the palate is very fine-featured with white floral and stonefruit flavours and balance yeasty notes. The mouthfeel is creamy and refined, with excellent effervescence in balance with crisp, lacy acidity. The flavours flow smoothly to a softly textural and gently crisp, dry finish. This is an elegant and fine featured, refreshing crémant to serve as an aperitif over the next 2 years. 17.5-/20 Feb 2014 RRP $19.99
