Isabel Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 26-Nov-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour with a subtle blush, pale edged. This has a bold and very aromatic bouquet with concentrated and deep exotic floral and spicy stonefruit notes, along with honied elements, cut by refreshing mineral nuances. Dryish to taste, the fruit is restrained and mellow in expression with soft rose-petal and yellow stonefruit flavours. The acidity is low, contributing to a smooth mouthfeel and gentle flow through the palate. A little unctuousness adds to the richness which carries through to a warm, gentle finish. This is a very aromatic and exotic Pinot Gris with a soft, mellow mouthfeel. Serve with Middle Eastern dishes over the next 3 years. Hand-picked fruit from four parcels, some given skin contact and fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 4.7 g/L RS, the wine undergoing batonnage. 17.5-/20 Nov 2013 RRP $29.99
