Invivo Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-Oct-2012
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale rim. This has a very full, even nose, a little reserved at present, with ripe passionfruit aromas along with English gooseberries and a little youthful aromatic lift, the fruit building with depth. Dry to taste, stylishly presented flavours of pungent passionfruit, limes, tropical fruits and gooseberries are enhanced by fresh esters. Racy acidity enhances the fruit sweetness, adding to the juicy succulence through the palate. The wine has good body and a full, rounded mouthfeel, with soft textures, but the acidity prevails, driving the flavours to a crisp, dry and sustained finish. This is a softly succulent Sauvignon Blanc with underlying racy acidity, quite classical in expression. Match with contemporary New Zealand cuisine, especially shellfish, over the next 2+ years. Marlborough fruit fermented to 12.5% alc. and 4 g/L rs. 18.5-/20 Oct 2012 RRP $19.90
