Indian Summer Rosé 2021, Hawke’s Bay

Rosé from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 01-Dec-2021
Bright, pale peach pink, even colour throughout. The nose is elegant and softly aromatic, yellow stonefruit melded with red berries and delicate floral. Medium-light bodied, dry to taste, creamy lees accompanied by nectarine, peach, red berries, and delicate peach blossom, a subtle hint of spice linger to a clean finish. The fruit is ripe and subtly in the background, well-proportioned and soft. Balanced, lively acidity carries powdery phenolics, adding a silky veil. This is an elegant, dry refreshing rosé with a fine texture. Serve as an aperitif or match with Prosciutto wrapped melon over the next 2 years. A blend of 66% Merlot, 18% Pinot Gris and 16% Viognier, machine picked, minimal skin contact, inoculated and fermented to 12.5% alc, 5 g/l RS, sat on light lees for a short time. 18.5-/20 pts (92 pts) Dec 2021 RRP $21.99
