Incognito ‘Prestige’ Hawke’s Bay Cabernet/Merlot.Malbec 2006

Cabernet Sauvignon from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 12-Jul-2011
Approx. 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 20% Malbec, the fruit from the Gimblett Gravels, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine then aged 18 months in oak. Very dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, this has a very concentrated, dense bouquet of ripe blackberries and plums with savoury game and earth elements. Liquorice and spice notes from the Malbec are evident. Full-bodied, this has well-ripened, sweet black fruit flavours intermingling with savoury meat notes, spiced with oak on the palate. The extraction is very fine-grained and provides a firm structure and good line and length. The wine has excellent freshness, and this indicates it will develop well over the next 6-8+ years. Serve with roast lamb, beef and venison, as well as hard cheeses. 18.5/20 Jul 2011 RRP $32.00
