Incognito ‘Prestige’ Central Otago Pinot Noir 2009

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 04-Apr-2012
Hand-picked fruit from a hillside vineyard in the Bendigo sub-region, indigenous yeast fermented to 13.4% alc., the wine aged 18 months in French oak barriques. Light ruby-red with some garnet hues, pale on edge. This has a soft, delicate, ethereal and perfumed bouquet of soft red berry fruits and florals along with subtle herb elements, attractively lifted and aromatic. Medium-full bodied, this is elegantly proportioned and somewhat restrained in expression. Soft red berry fruits, exotic florals and spices and dried herb flavours are detailed and interwoven. The palate has fine-grained tannins and discreet acidity forming a fine textural line with good tension. The wine finishes with some savoury secondary complexities of mushrooms and forest-floor just appearing. This is an elegant and ethereal, fine-textured Pinot Noir that is just beginning to develop subtle complexities. Match with fine Asian duck and pork dishes over the next 4-5 years. 17.5+/20 Apr 2012 RRP $27.99
