Incognito ‘Prestige’ Central Otago Pinot Gris 2010

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 12-Jul-2011
Hand-picked, whole bunch pressed and cool-fermented to 14.3% alc., and aged on lees for two months, a portion in old French oak. Softly bright, straw-yellow in colour, this has an elegant nose with good depth of spiced pear, citrus and white stonefruit aromas, along with some flinty lees interest. Off-dry on palate, the initial pear and stonefruit flavours are a little subdued, but there is a juiciness and lusciousness to the wine. This has good weight and subtle textures which provide an opulence to the mouthfeel. Some alcohol warmth adds to the richness, but there is sufficient acidity to give a long, crisp, steely finish. Match with creamy sauced seafood and poultry dished over the next 3-4+ years. 18.0-/20 RRP $22.00
