Incognito Marlborough Methode Traditionnelle Brut NV

Sparkling Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Sep-2011
Bright straw-yellow with a pale edge to the colour, with a moderately persistent bead. This has an elegantly proportioned nose of stonefruits and nuts, and light, bready autolysis, with good depth and a dried fruits complexity. Dry on palate, this has a firmness and fine textural grip contributing to body and weight. The flavours are a complex amalgam of stonefruits, nuts, autolysis and aldehyde elements, kept lively by good effervescence. The wine is gently crisp from restrained acidity. A blend of 79% Chardonnay, 21% Pinot Noir, all Marlborough fruit, fermented to 12.5% alc. with 5 g/L dosage. The wine spent 25 months on lees. A dry methode with some complexing interest to match with antipasto and grilled seafood over the next 2-3+ years. 17.5/20 Sep 2011 RRP $17.99
