Incognito Central Otago Pinot Noir 2011

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 11-Dec-2012
Full, even, dark ruby-red colour with slight purple hues. Concentrated aromas of ripe black cherries show with spicy dark plum fruit, revealing underlying thyme herb notes. Medium-full bodied, tightly concentrated flavours of ripe black cherries and oak are framed in a tightly bound, finely-structured palate. Spicy oak and dark herb flavours add interest, with bright acidity enhancing the sweetness and providing liveliness. A little alcoholic power drives the wine which finishes with long, lingering spicy cherry flavours. This is a classically structured Central Otago Pinot Noir with ripe dark cherry and thyme flavours. Serve with roasted duck and pork dished over the next 5+ years. Clones 5, 6, 10/5, 113, 115, 667 and 777 from two vineyards, one in Bannockburn the other in Lowburn, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 26% new oak barriques. 18.0/20 Dec 2012 RRP $19.99
