Hunter’s Offshoot 2022, Marlborough

Sparkling Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Nov-2022
Bright, even, pale yellow. Moderately fine bead, lightly effervescent. The nose is fresh and punchy, with penetrating aromas of green apple, gooseberry and kaffir lime leaf. Medium-light bodied, aromas of green apple and its skins packed the palate, underlying gooseberry and kaffir lime leaf. The mouthfeel carries subtle apple-skin-like phenolics and flows effortlessly with lively acidity; vibrant mousse and creaminess broaden the palate and enhance the flavour. This fun, vibrant Sauvignon Blanc pet-nat is clean and refreshing with attractive aromatics. Serve well-chilled as an aperitif or match with seafood and goat's cheese tart over the next 2 years. Fruit from Waihopai Valley, bottled while fermenting to create natural carbonation, 12.8% alc, 2.89 g/l RS. 18/20 pts (90 pts) Nov 2022 RRP $24.90
