Huia Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 17-Jan-2014
Fruit from the ‘Home’ and ‘Winsome’ vineyards, fermented with a portion in seasoned French oak to 13.5% alc. and 2.2 g/L RS. Bright, full, very light straw colour with green hues. This has a tightly concentrated and intensely deep bouquet with lively and robust aromas of gooseberries, herbaceous fruits, fresh and minerals, revealing some smokiness and flinty notes. Dry and medium-bodied, deep and well-concentrated flavours of gooseberries and pungent fruits form a fine, but firm core on the palate. The fruit is bright and shows richness allied to texture, and the mouthfeel is positive with phenolic linearity and crisp, racy acidity. There is good power and drive that carries the flavours to a sustained finish. This is a firm and well-concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with plenty of drive and texture. Serve with rich, creamy seafood and poultry dishes and goats cheeses over the next 2-3 years. Certified BioGro organic. 18.0/20 Jan 2014 RRP $25.00
