Hudson ‘Mokopuna’ Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 29-May-2011
Named for Peter and Jude Hudson's grandchildren, the word for them in Maori being ‘Mokopuna'. Cool stainless-steel fermented to 14.0% alc. and 4.05 g/L rs. Brilliant straw-yellow colour with a light edge, this has a soft, full nose or ripe tropical fruits, gooseberries and capsicums, and a little lemon-grass, and notes of development appearing. Dry and crisp on palate, this has subtly expressed flavours of lifted tropical fruits and gooseberries on a softly textured, rounded palate. There is good, fresh acidity adding a degree of lusciousness to the fruit. Drinking well now and over the next two years, match with sushi, poultry and creamy cheeses. 16.5/20 May 2011 RRP $22.00
