Howard Park Western Australia Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from Australia - Western Australia
Review Date : 20-Apr-2015
Very pale straw colour, near colourless on rim. The nose has excellent intensity of ripe citrus and stonefruit aromas, quite elegant, but with subtle richness, revealing toast and reductive detail and an aromatic lift. Medium-bodied, the citrus fruit is rich and has a succulent lusciousness. There is a stylish stonefruit and mineral edge with some gunflint, toast and oak, and the mouthfeel features beautifully refreshing acidity and tension to match the richness. An elegant and richly layered wine to develop over 5-6 years. 52% Mt Barker, 39% Margaret River and 9% Porongurup fruit, hand-picked, WBP and barrel-fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged in 30% new French oak undergoing batonnage and partial MLF. 19.0-/20 Apr 2015 RRP $52.95
