Howard Park ‘Leston’ Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - Western Australia
Review Date : 20-Apr-2015
Very dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, still youthful in appearance. The bouquet features densely concentrated blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, the freshness giving way to some savoury game and cedary elements. Medium-full bodied, the fruit is ripe and succulent, the palate densely packed with blackcurrant flavours. Some savoury olive and tapenade notes emerge, adding a layer of complexing detail. The tannins are very fine-featured, and the wine flows smoothly with satiny textures, following a very long, lingering line. This is extremely youthful and will continue to age well, over 10+ years. Fruit from the ‘Leston’ vineyard, Margaret River, the wine aged 18 months in 75% new French oak barriques. 19.0/20 Apr 2015 RRP $N/A
