Howard Park Great Southern Riesling 2013

Riesling from Australia - Western Australia
Review Date : 20-Apr-2015
Bright, pale straw colour. This has good depth and volume to the nose, with a rounded core of lime, mineral and toast just beginning to appear. Dry to taste, the flavours are mouthfilling and show good presence. Lime fruit with mineral infusion and toasty elements, encased in a textured palate. Some phenolics lending grip and structure. This will be good to match with food. 5-7+ years. 90% Mt Marker and 10% Porongurup fruit, primarily from the Mt Barrow vineyard fermented to 12.0% alc. and 1.3 g/L RS, TA 8.55 g/L and pH 2.97. 18.0+/20 Apr 2015 RRP $35.00 The fruit 90% Mount Barker and 10% Porongurup, predominantly from the ‘Mount Barrow’ vineyard, fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc. and 1.3 g/L RS, with TA 8.55 g/L and pH 2.94. Bright pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The nose is very elegant, refined and restrained with subtle aromas of lime fruit with white florals and some complexing mineral and flint detail adding interest to the delicate fruit purity. Dry to taste and tightly bound, pure lime and floral fruit flavours are enlivened by racy, minerally acidity. The fruit follows a very fine-featured core and line, revealing citrus zest and nuances of exotic florals. The palate is mouthwatering dry and crisp, and the flavours carry to a very long, lingering finish. This is a tight and pure dry Riesling with delicate lime and floral flavours and a zesty palate. Serve as an aperitif or with delicate seafood dishes over the next 5-6+ years. 18.5/20 Apr 2014 RRP $33.00
