Moderately deep, ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, a little lighter on the edge. The nose is elegantly presented with a moderately deep core of spicy dark-red berry and raspberry fruit unfolding light peppery notes, hints of cedary oak and a little eucalyptus. Medium-full bodied, the palate is sweetly succulent and rich with plush, easy and accessible flavours of dark raspberries, spices and a layering of pepper, cedar and eucalyptus. The fruit is underlined by some alcoholic power and supported by light, fine-grained tannin structure with integrated acidity. The fruit has a good core with linearity that carries to a long, succulent and spicy finish. This is a sweetly plush, succulent and accessible Shiraz with flavours of dark raspberries, spices, pepper and eucalypt with a good core and some underlying power. Match with barbecued fare over the next 3-4 years. 100% Shiraz from the Lower Murray, McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek, fermented to 14.9% alc., the wine aged in tank, in French and American oak for 3 months and in 300 L French oak hogsheads.
