Hogshead Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon 2021, South Australia

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 27-Sep-2022
Deep, rich ruby-red, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is attractively juicy and full, with aromas of blackberry, plum interweaves with blackcurrant leaf and clove. Full-bodied, aromas of blackberry and plum intermixed with cocoa, clove and blackcurrant leaf herbaceousness. The fruit is succulent and pure, supported by balanced, lively acidity. Smooth, fine-grained tannin possesses a rich chocolate expression. This attractive Cabernet Sauvignon is moderately complex with succulent black fruit, cocoa and spice details and a smooth palate. Match with chilli con carne and barbeque lamb over the next 3-4 years. The fruit was sourced from McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek, Lower Murray & Barossa Valley, 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Shiraz, destemmed, cold macerated, fermented to 14% alc, aged in stainless steel, seasoned French and American oak for 3 months and 300L French Hogshead barrels. 18+/20 pts (91 pts) Sep 2022 RRP $25
