Hills & Rivers Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 25-Sep-2014
Bright, even, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. This has an elegant and fine nose with delicate white floral aromas entwined with lifted herbs, gooseberries and subtle passionfruit notes. Some youthful fermentation esters are present. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, this is slender on palate, but with positive flavours of white stonefruits, herbs and passionfruit elements in the background. Fruit sweetness is enhanced by the fresh acidity and this is balanced by soft, fine textures that provide a dry mouthfeel and line. The wine carries to a moderately long finish. This is an elegant, dry Sauvignon Blanc with lifted white stonefruit and herb flavours. Serve with salads and vegetables, and with Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. 16.5+/20 Sep 2014 RRP $15.00
