Hills & Rivers Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 25-Sep-2014
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with lemon-gold hues, paler on edge. The nose is restrained with clean a fresh aromas of white stonefruits, florals and minerals, unfolding pear fruit, honeysuckle and exotic floral elements with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has a tight, firmly held palate with white stonefruit and minerally flavours, and savoury apricot kernel elements at the core. The palate has drive and linearity from dry, grainy phenolic textures and lively, ripe acidity, leading to a moderately sustained, clean, dry finish. This is a dry, firm Pinot Gris that features a rich, aromatic bouquet. Serve with antipasto and white meat courses over the next 3 years. Cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 4 g/L RS, the wine aged on light lees. 17.0-/20 Sep 2014 RRP $15.00
