Hieron Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC 2015

Montepulciano from Italy - Other
Review Date : 28-Jun-2017
Very dark, deep, black-hued red colour, a little lighter on the edge with slight garnet hues. This has a light, gently voluminous nose with aroma of dark-red berry fruits entwined with cooler spectrum herbal notes along with a little stalk and leaf, unveiling a fine core of black minerals, and earthy, somewhat rustic and robust elements. Medium-bodied, the palate is light-medium bodied with light flavours of savoury red berry fruit intermixed with cooler spectrum herb and leaf notes. The flavours form a rounded core with soft, supple tannin extraction in support and integrated acidity. The wine carries to a light, berried, herbal and earthy flavoured finish. This is a light Montepulciano with savoury berry fruit along with cooler herb and leafy notes on a supple, rounded palate. Serve with pasta, pizza and risotto over the next 2-3 years. 100% Montepulciano fermented to 12.5% alc. 16.0/20 Jun 2017 RRP $14.95
