Henri Giraud ‘Esprit de Giraud’ Champagne Brut NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Champagne
Review Date : 08-Mar-2017
Full, light golden-hued straw colour, the bead moderately fine. This is full and broad, quite open and up-front, with yellow stonefruits showing Pinot Noir prominence, along with subtle autolysis, Some savoury, nutty aldehyde complexities emerge from the core. The palate is softly full and rounded, with savoury yellow stonefruits and autolysis. Some spicy, nutty oak? Certainly some secondary interest. The mouthfeel possesses some phenolic textures, and the wine is a complete, satisfying package. From Ay, 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, 24 months on lees, 8 g/L dosage. Giraud now purchases fruit to supplement own holdings, so is thus technically a negociant. 18.0+/20 Mar 2017 RRP $79.99
