Hayashi ‘Estate Goichi’ Sauvignon Blanc 2008

Sauvignon Blanc from Other
Review Date : 11-May-2011
Very pale straw-yellow colour with a pale edge, this has a very light nose, vinous with delicate herb and apple aromas, not too expressive in varietal character. There is little aged bean character, but a touch of oxidation is apparent. Dry to taste, this is crisp and light at 12.0% alc. The wine has soft herbal, green apple and nutty flavours with some sweetness on mid-palate, and this is well balanced by crisp acidity. A thread of phenolic grip provides a dry finish. This has vinous presence, but the fruit is modest and the wine mature. Drink now and over the next 12 months with antipasto, seafood and subtle Asian cuisine. 14.5+/20 May 2011
