Hayashi ‘Estate Goichi’ Cabernet 2007

Cabernet Sauvignon from Other
Review Date : 11-May-2011
Moderately deep ruby-red with garnet hues on edge, this has a fresh, elegant nose of herbal, blackcurranty fruit, showing less than optimum ripeness, but attractively and identifiably varietal in expression. Medium-bodied at 12.0% alc., this has a good core of blackcurrant flavours along with stalky notes. The wine has good grip and backbone from proper extraction, but the sweetness of fruit comes through. This is a well-balanced wine, showing cool-ripening characters. It will drink well with roast lamb over the next 3-4+ years. 16.0-20 May 2011
