Hawkshead Gibbston Valley Central Otago Pinot Gris 2011

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 19-Jan-2012
Brilliant pale straw-yellow colour with a slight green hue. This has a fine, aromatic and voluminous bouquet of lifted florals with spices and pears. Layers of ethereal nuances flow. Off-dry to taste, this has good body and depth, the fruit flavours of ripe pears and exotic florals showing richness and lusciousness. There is good concentration and a core to the palate, and bright acidity provides refreshing cut and balance. The finish is moderately long and restrained. Gibbston Valley fruit WBP and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and 8.7 g/L rs. This is an attractively aromatic and lively Pinot Gris with fine floral and pear flavours to serve with antipasto, seafood and poultry dishes over the next 3-4 years. 17.5-/20 Jan 2012 RRP $25.99
