Lowburn fruit, fermented to 11.5% alc., 4.7 g/L RS, with TA 8 g/L and pH 3.10, brilliant colour, very pale, the nose is redolent of fresh limes and citrus fruits, and a touch of savoury, sour apples and sherbetty lift, all with purity. Off-dry to taste, bright and lively lime, apple and mineral flavours are refreshed by lively, steely and crisp acidity. The raciness carries the palate to a long finish. This is classical Kabinett style. 18.0/20 Jun 2014 Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, light on rim. The nose is elegantly proportioned with good depth of lime and lemon fruit aromas along with soft sweet and sour interest and faint nuances of nuts and minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, up-front lime and lemon flavours feature on the palate. Floral and sweet and sour savoury notes add interest and the fruit forms a softly textured mouthfilling presence with a fine phenolic line. Soft acidity underlines the palate and the flavours lead to a dry, taut and crisp finish. This is a soft textured, dry Riesling with savoury citrus fruit flavours. Serve as an aperitif, with antipasto and with tapas over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from the Lowburn sub-region, hand-picked, WBP and cool-fermented to 11.5% alc. and 4.7 g/L RS.
