Hawksdrift ‘Barrel Fermented’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Oct-2015
Bright straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues and some depth. This has a soft and full nose with harmoniously interwoven aromas of greengages, nectarines and green stonefruits along with subtle, complexing spice, herb and nutty elements. The aromatics show depth. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, fresh and vibrant fruit flavours of green stonefruits, nectarines and herbs show with good sweetness and richness. The fruit is enlivened by fresh acidity lending good vitality and energy. Light, grainy phenolic textures emerge to provide grip and structure, and the palate core flows with drive to a dry, chalky-textured finish with herb and stonefruit nuances. This is a fresh, lively, oak-influenced Sauvignon Blanc with sweet fruit and a textured mouthfeel. Match with herb-marinated seafood and poultry dishes over the next 3 years.
