Harwood Hall Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2015

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 21-Jun-2016
Full, bright, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour with some depth, pale edged. The nose is fresh and tight with lightly concentrated aromas of citrus fruits and yellow stonefruits entwined with lemon-curd MLF, unfolding subtle nutty oak elements. Medium-bodied, finely concentrated flavours of citrus fruits and yellow stonefruits are melded with soft, creamy and nutty barrel elements, and lemon-curd MLF. The palate has good mouthfeel, presence, and flows along a soft-textured line with fresh acidity providing liveliness. The wine has a taut core that carries to a clean finish of citrus fruit and MLF. This is an elegantly concentrated, fresh Chardonnay with citrus and stonefruit flavours, along with lemon-curd MLF and subtle nutty detail. Match with seafood, poultry and pork over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from a single site, 40% indigenous yeast fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 20% new French oak barriques with 40% MLF. 16.5+/20 Jun 2016 RRP $24.95
