Harvest Estate Martinborough Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 24-Dec-2014
Full, even, dark ruby-red colour, a little lighter on rim. The nose is softly full with ripe aromas of dark red berry and plums with red florals, revealing subtle, savoury herbal nuances, a touch of reduction and hints of oak resin. Medium-bodied, the palate features soft and fleshy red berry and plum fruit flavours harmoniously integrated with fine, supple tannins. Red floral notes add a pretty and attractive sweetness to the fruit. The mouthfeel is plush and smooth-flowing with fresh, gentle acidity providing good linearity. The wine flows effortlessly to a moderately long finish with spicy elements and some reduction. This is a plush and supple Pinot Noir with attractively sweet fruit. Serve with poultry and pork dishes over the next 4-5 years. Abel and Pommard clone fruit from Omarere Road, vines 17 and 7 y.o., fermented to 13.0% alc. and aged 12 months in French oak barriques. 200 dozen made. 17.5+/20 Dec 2014 RRP $42.00
