Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is full and solidly packed with dense aromas of ripe blackberry and blackcurrant fruit along with subtle nuances of mint and soft layers of eucalyptus. Medium-full bodied, the palate features fulsome and sweetly rich flavours of blackberries and blackcurrants, entwined with mint herbs and notes of eucalyptus. The palate has weight and presence and underlying alcohol drive, and the fruit is supported by light, grainy tannin extraction and structure. This has a solid core and the wine carries to an elegant, black-fruited finish enlivened by light, lacy acidity. This is a solid, weighty Cabernet Sauvignon with blackberry and blackcurranty fruit on a grainy-textured palate. Match with slow-cooked game meat dishes over the next 4 years.
