Hans Herzog Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Oct-2015
Ruby-red colour with some depth, lighter edged. This has a savoury, brackish bouquet with secondary aromas of game and undergrowth , but still with underlying red berry fruits and subtle herbal notes. On palate showing secondary complexities and favour development, with game and dried herbs to the red fruits. This has proper extraction, structure and grip forming a good core, and there is good acidity and freshness. This is a well-constructed Pinot Noir with complexity. 6-8 years ahead, easily. Clones 5, 114, 115, 667, 777 and 10/5, indigenous yeast fermented with c.20% whole bunches to 14.0% alc., the wine spending 24 days on skins and aged 18 months in 30% new French oak barriques. 17.5+/20 Oct 2015 RRP $49.00
