Hans Herzog Marlborough Nebbiolo 2011

Nebbiolo from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Oct-2015
Dark, deep, black hued garnet-red colour. The bouquet features savoury dark red berry fruit with tar and aromatic overtones of florals, intermixed with herbs, earth and some positive vegetal elements. Dark deep spicy red berry fruits, the classical ‘tar and roses’, complexed by savoury herb, vegetal and earthy notes are the feature. Some spiciness emerges. The fruit is supported by very fine grained, powdery tannins and balanced, lively acidity, lending a bright, youthful mouthfeel. This is classical Nebbiolo in flavour and mouthfeel. This will age 8-10 years. 100% Nebbiolo from vines planted in 1997, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 24 months in seasoned 500 L puncheons. 18.5/20 Oct 2015 RRP $115.00
