Hans Herzog Marlborough Montepulciano 2010

Montepulciano from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Oct-2015
Very dark, black-red colour, youthful in appearance. This has a full, firm and deep nose of very ripe black and dark-red berry fruit, unfolding layers of raspberries, plums, earth and minerals. Full and powerfully presented on palate, this is deeply packed with rich, ripe, juicy blackberry and raspberry fruits, still quite primary in expression. Subtle savoury detail emerges, along with spice elements and a touch of oak. The mouthfeel features very fine-grained flowery tannins, but the rich and sweet fruit carries throughout the palate line. This will keep 6-8+ years easily. Fruit fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 30 months in 30% new French oak. 18.5+/20 Oct 2015 RRP $64.00
