Hans Herzog Marlborough Gruner Veltliner 2012

Gruner Veltliner from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Oct-2015
Bright straw-yellow colour with lemon-gold hues. The bouquet is initially shy and soft in presentation, but reveals a deep and dense heart of savoury yellow stonefruits and herbs, the aromatics showing some secondary complexities. Full-bodied with plenty of weight and presence, sweetly rich and aromatic fruit flavours of yellow stonefruits sweet herbs, nutty oak and spice elements fill the mouth. The wine follows a fine, dry-textured line, with integrated, soft acidity enhancing the richness and rounded mouthfeel. The vinosity of the wine carries to a strong finish. This has richness and fruit extract, and will keep another 4+ years. Fruit WBP and fermented to 13.8% alc. and 3 g/L RS, 70% of the wine aged 9 months on lees in 500 L puncheons. 18.5/20 Oct 2015 RRP $44.00
