Hampshire Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc 2023, Marlborough

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Dec-2023
Bright, even, very pale yellow. The nose is fresh and vibrant, packed with aromas of gooseberry, green apple, guava, white spice and a hint of elderflower. Medium-bodied, aromas of guava lead the palate with gooseberry, green apple, cardamon and elderflower. The wine is smooth with a lightly waxy texture and a light apple-skin-like phenolic grip; the ripe fruit and excellent acid balance drive a moreish finish. This Sauvignon Blanc possesses lush fruit, well-balanced acidity and a fine texture. Match with pan-fried sole and green-lipped mussels over the next 3+ years. Fruit from Awatere Valley, fermented to 13.5% alc, 2.7 g/l RS. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Dec 2023 RRP $30
